On April 14, 2012 Miss Barlett, English teacher, took a week trip to Ireland with a group of 46 people from Tyrone.
They left on April 14 at 9:00p.m. from Philadelphia and arrived in Dublin, Ireland at 9:00a.m. Sunday. The total flight took about seven to eight hours.
After arrival the group checked in at the hotel in Dublin and then visited at St Patrick’s Cathedral and Trinity College.
“My favorite picture is the picture of Saint Patrick’s Cathedral. It looks like it could be a postcard,” Barlett said.
Throughout the week the group traveled across the southern part of the country, staying in Dublin, Ennis, Killarney, Waterford, and then back at Dublin.
On Thursday night the group went to a local pub. Where an Irish singer sang traditional Irish songs and discussed the meaning of the song.
“I loved it so much I bought his CD!” Barlett exclaimed.
Barlett took over 400 pictures while on the trip, and bought many items to bring home—some of those include jewelry, a blanket, a sweater and her favorite item, a crystal cross.
Something Barlett wanted to share is that the symbol of Ireland is not a clover, it is actually a harp.
