Cafeteria worker retires from TASD

Janice Friday, TAM&HS cafeteria worker, will be retiring from Tyrone Area School District after six years of service.

“What I love most about my job is the kids,” Friday said. “I will miss them.”

In her retirement, Friday plans on spending more time with her grandchildren, going to the Senior Center, exercising and walking with a friend.

“I will miss [Janice’s] personality,” Jean Wallace, co-worker, said. “She was always fun to talk to.”

Friday grew up in Tyrone and graduated from TAHS. Before working at TASD, Friday worked at K-Mart in State College for 20 years and also at Mariana’s Hoagies for six months.

Senior Ryan Myers said, “It’s sad that we are losing another cafeteria worker.”

Junior John Weaver agreed, “She will be missed.”
