Mrs. Campbell, Mrs. Pinter, and Mrs. Beigle assigned the senior memoir project to the class of 2012 as the criteria for the graduation exit project.
This senior memoir has been given out for over ten years now to all seniors. The only difference is that this is the first year that it will also be counted as the senior graduation exit project.
Paige Miller, senior, said that her favorite part of the senior project is “that you can include personal stories.”
Beigle, English teacher, said that “reading all of the funny, touching, and memorable stories about my students [is my favorite part of the assignment]. I love it!”
Kaleb Chronister, senior, said, “[The senior project is] a way to reflect on the years we have lived up until now.”
Tim Luke, senior, said, “I think [the senior project] is good. You look back at the good times and look forward to the new ones.”
Tyler Ray, senior, said, “[I don’t wish to change anything about the senior project because] I like my senior memoir.”
Pinter, English teacher, said that there was no senior project when she was a senior. There was no state requirement back then. In years past, Pinter said that seniors had to be interviewed by three teachers and present their artifacts. Her favorite part about the assignment this year is “[when] reading people talk about themselves from a different perspective in the Graduation Speech and the Roundtable assignments.”
Many students have included their friends, family, and God into their memoirs. They have said that it is easy, and to a point, even enjoyable.
