Ms. Baker, Penn State University graduate teaches pre-algebra, foundations of math, and honors algebra two. She teaches grades 6, 7 and some mixed HS classes.
This year is Baker’s second year of teaching, she taught at Altoona Area Junior High School last year.
Baker’s favorite part of the day is when she gets to interact with the kids while she is teaching. She enjoys seeing them grow as students.
Her least favorite part of the day is when she has to give them tests or quizzes because she doesn’t get to interact with her students.
Baker attended Penn State and majored in secondary education with a mathematics option. Her extracurricular activities included Omicron Delta Kappa and Penn State Honors Society. Baker’s favorite subject in college was math most of the time because she found it was making her think harder.
Baker went to Penn Cambria High School. Her favorite subject in high school was math because it was very challenging and she had a good math teacher.
Baker’s favorite quote is, “Everything happens for a reason” because she says, “It seems like it’s the whole truth. Sometimes something can happen and later on you will see why it happened.”
Her favorite food is chicken. She enjoys watching “NCIS” and her favorite movie is “Something’s Gotta Give.” Her favorite kind of music is country.
