Song of the week: “Outcast”

By Sadie Jackson

This week‘s song is “Outcast” by Kerrie Roberts. In fact, I can NOT let the replay button alone this week! Not with this song anyway! It’s about being who you are and defying the status quo.

If you know me, you will learn that I am always saying “Normal is overrated” and “Who is to decide what ‘normal’ is anyway?”

I love this song so much because I am at a point in my life where I am really finding out who I am and am well aware that I am not like a lot of people my age, and I am okay with that. Like the lyrics say,

“I’m not good enough; I’m not what they want
But let me tell you what, I know who I am
So just throw me out for not fitting in
I will stand my ground and be an outcast

So-o what if I’m an outcast?
So-o what if I’m an outcast?”

So be who you are and believe what you want and defy the status quo. Don’t fit society’s mold of who you are supposed to be. Be who you are and not who everyone else is!
