Fundraising pros and cons

By Sadie Jackson

Many groups and activities fundraise to raise money for their group. They raise money to buy certain items needed or for a trip. Either way, you will run into pros and cons.

“[Fundraisers are] a lot of work. And sometimes with fundraisers aren’t prepaid you don’t get all the money. It’s very frustrating,” Mrs. Hipp, choir and POPS Extension (POPS) director said.

Hipp doesn’t particularly like to fundraise but it is something you have to do in order to get extra funds for your group. She finds it is easier when the students are working for something like a reward or a prize.

Ms. Bradford, TAHS math teacher and girl’s soccer coach does not like fundraising at all, “I feel like it’s a nuisance to have to bug people to buy things.”
Bradford feels it is hard to have two fundraisers at a time because she has a select few people that she goes to when she has a fundraiser.

  1. I feel as fundraising is very beneficial. My mother does it for the football team and the players get a lot of cool stuff because they have the money to do this.
